"Be prepared to wait for long hours"

I was referred by my GP to CDU and on arrival at reception the staff were just chatting not minding me until a student nurse came to ask one lady next to me if she could help then I said I would like to be helped as I have a referral letter, then the lady at reception said ‘oh you should come this side then. I was taken for blood pressure, blood tests and x ray, then waiting for a junior doctor who I did not see at the end because I had to go back home to look after my kids who are both under 2 years of age. I was there for 3 hours and when I asked if my results could be sent to my GP I was told that is not possible. The option was to wait or self discharge, I couldn’t wait because the lady who helped to look after my kids had to go to work. It’s ridiculous that we have to wait more than 7 hours as one lady next to me said. I had to self discharge as I couldn’t neglect my children, there should be more staff or doctors.
