On two occasions when

I phoned the practise the receptionist was very rude and dismissive and patronizing, , when I was asking about the flue jab for myself and my son , comments like "why do you think you need it ", ect I recognise that they will come up against some difficult people , but they can't be treating all people the same , could you send me the complaints procedure please as would like to take this further, thank you,

Our reception staff are trained in care navigation which ensures patients are directed to the most appropriate health care professional for their needs. In order to do this they need to ask some questions to ascertain the correct advice is given.

The National NHS Flu Programme has certain criteria to identify patients who are at risk of flu to ensure they are vaccinated.

The criteria includes all patients aged 65 and over, some patients aged under 65 with a serious long term health condition such as Diabetes, Chronic Asthma, etc.

If patients do not meet the nationally set criteria they will not be eligible for a flu vaccination at their GP practice.

Some pharmacies offer this on a private basis for these patients.

Please call into the surgery or email ghmg@nhs.net for a copy of our complaints procedure.
