Attended for my third colposcopy today for ongoing issues with a cervical ectropion. I was booked in with a nurse colposcopist on this occasion who informed me that these are not usually treated unless debilitating - this was a surprise to me as I had never been informed of this at either of my previous colposcopy appointments with a Consultant Gynaecologist! If I had known this at the time of my outpatient review (when I was referred for said colposcopy), I would not have proceeded to the colposcopy and this appointment could have been offered to another patient. However, saying that, it was reassuring to have this assessed again for peace of mind. The staff were brilliant and made me feel at ease and the ward itself was very clean and tidy.
