"Orthotics Dept"

About: Ayrshire Central Hospital / Prosthetics/Orthotics

(as a relative),

My mum suffered a stroke in April & has to wear a splint to help her walk. Last week she had a fall at home & badly hurt her ankle. She was due at a Orthotics appointment that week but obviously could not make it. Her splint was damaged in the fall so I contacted the department to find out she was getting a new one at the clinic. I explained what had happened to a lovely lady (Christine)& it was arranged for the new splint to be fitted at home the next day by Graham who was very nice & helpful as well. I can't thank them enough for going out their way to help me & my mum. He even took the old splint away to be fixed so she has a spare. Thank you so much, it's really appreciated..

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear bigangel,

I am so sorry to hear about your mum's stroke and recent fall but it is so good to hear that the problem she had with the splint was resolved so well. Now that is service at its best by the sounds of it.

I will pass your post and gratitude to the Orthotics team and ensure the lovely Christine and Graham see it too. I am sure it will brighten up their day (despite the foggy cloud hanging low over Ayrshire just now).

I hope all is well with you and your mum now,

Best wishes,

Eunice

My mum is on the road to recovery now thanks..I thought I would just like to say how well we were looked after & our problem solved so quick & efficiently. These days people are so quick to complain so it's nice to give some positive feedback to the members of staff.
