"Thanks to the Ambulance, A & E and the D6 Ward..."

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

Following a cycling fall on the morning of 14th December whereby I sustained a broken femur, a wonderful care organisation swung into action.

The Ambulance Team stabilized me and whisked me to the A & E Dept at QA Hospital where a nurse took immediate control.

I was quickly assessed, X-rayed and moved to D6 Ward and operated upon that afternoon by very professional doctors and nurses.

I was most impressed by the care, team work and respect all staff showed to all patients during my 7 night stay.

The physiotherapists and occupational therapists were always on hand to help me push towards a quick recovery early discharge.

I came away with an immense respect and admiration for the cooperative way these teams worked and maintained a cheerful presence in often difficult circumstances.

Thank you everyone who contributed to my recovery which is progressing well.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. I will of course share your kind words with the teams involved in your care, as I am sure they will be delighted to receive them, and would like to wish you all the best for the rest of your recovery.

With best wishes

Lisa
