"Husbands care and Treatment"

About: Borders General Hospital / Acute Assessment Unit

(as a relative),

My husband was sent to AAU by his GP as he was experiencing acute chest pain even whilst resting.

The care, explanations about the various tests and subsequent results was clearly given and explained.

Everyone we met at the Borders General Hospital concerned with my husbands care were professional but friendly and caring at all times.

Fortunately his chest pain was not cardiac related and he is at home having a bit of a rest.

Dear The Wife

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about the experience that your husband had whilst a patient in AAU. I'm delighted that you felt you were both kept well informed with good explanations - this is what the whole team aspire to achieve for every patient in our care. The aim of AAU is to provide rapid assessment and investigation so that appropriate care and/or reassurance can be provided without unnecessary delay. It's always very motivating and pleasing for the team to receive positive feedback and I'll ensure that this is shared with colleagues.

I'm pleased that your husband's pain was not cardiac related and I hope that he is recovering well at home.

Best Wishes

Lynne
