"Superb care during and after Coronary Heart..."

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital

Firstly I must apologise to the excellent Cardio-thoracic Team for the delay in writing my review. On January 4th 2018 I underwent Coronary Artery Bypass surgery carried out by the surgeon. From arriving in the CICU until my discharge on the 11th January from Ward 38 I cannot compliment the staff enough for their expertise, professional care and kind consideration. Everyone involved in my treatment was so caring that I can't thank them enough. Apart from the surgeon, his Anaesthetist and everyone else involved in the actual surgery, the immediate after care was first class. A special mention to the Enhanced Recovery Clinical Nurse Specialist who excelled in helping me through the immediate post surgery period. As I suffer from Parkinson's Disease this was of particular personal importance to both me and my wife. Special thanks must also go to the staff on CICU who were the nurses who looked after me so well. Nothing was too much trouble to them and they are a credit to their profession. Finally, I would like to pass on my wife's thanks for the consideration that the staff paid to her during the stressful period of my stay. Her stress was emphasised by the fact that she stayed on her own at a local hotel during my time at the hospital. When the staff heard of this they went out of their way to be as flexible and considerate as possible. Thanks once again to everyone involved.
