"Attended with my husband"

About: North Manchester General Hospital

I attended A&E at NMGH with my husband.

The department was extremely busy and we had a long 9 hour wait.

Despite being under so much pressure, we witnessed all patients being treated as efficiently as possible and all staff were patient and professional.

It was clear, however that many of the members of the public within the waiting room did not require emergency care and unfortunately these people were the most vocal in criticising the staff for their long waiting times, rather than having some understanding that there were obviously others who's more serious conditions took priority.

Well done to all staff for working so hard under such pressure and still going back day after day to do it again.
