"Life saver"

About: The Royal London Hospital

I was admitted following an urgent referral from my GP via your A&E reception. Your emergency teams did an incredible job and along with the care provided by all the people in the renal and urology ward saved my life. It's difficult to pick any one above the rest, as everyone played such an important role, but your nurses in the critical care unit are simply amazing and surgeons top notch. Once you know there is an issue you are world class and pull out all the stops. Your curries aren't too shabby either.

My only comment would be the time taken to be seen under triage as this took quite a while. It was a busy time and I recognise this is more of an education issue for visitors but I'd urge you to consider a solution to what I'd admit may be an intractable problem. Everybody who is waiting would probably put themselves forward as urgent but maybe a floor walk by a nurse every half hour or so may help or some form of self assessment but this no doubt is an issue for all A&E's.

Thank you for taking time to contact us with feedback. We are pleased to hear how the teams in A& E & CCU saved your life and that overall you had a positive experience in hospital and more so pleased to hear how the staff were amazing and the surgeons top notch. Even though our curries were not top notch we are pleased that they were not too shabby either . Thank you for the suggestion on how we can improve the triage system in A& E, we have forwarded your comments to A& E management for consideration as a service improvement initiative.

Hope you are recovering well and wishing you all the best.

Should you wish to discuss your feedback further with us , please don't hesitate to contact us via the PALs team on site on 0203 594 2040 or email RLHpals@bartshealth.nhs.uk

Kind regards
