My 2 day old granddaughter was admitted first to Geoffrey Hammond ward then transferred downstrairs to special care over Christmas. Staff on both wards were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble, instant responses to questions, everything fully explained and with a human and caring attitude. The staff managed to be both approachable and understanding whilst also maintaining an ultra-professional appoach. We were constantly reassured and felt that our precious baby was in the best possible hands. Even after discharge the message was, "We are here for you, get back to us at any hour of the day or night if you are worried." Thank you to all concerned. Truly exemplary care. Unit managers, hospital directors and NHS England can be proud of this standard. I hope the day to day staff involved are sufficiently recognised.
