On Nov. 26th, I was admitted to Springfield Hospital for a total hip replacement under the care of an Orthopaedic Surgeon.
On the 28th, pending discharge, the physiotherapist noted that I did not look well and was experiencing rigors.
She immediately advised the nursing staff and what I understand from my wife, who was present shortly thereafter, a remarkable team response of consultants, nursing staff (including supervisors), pharmacy staff and laboratory service staff rapidly attended me.
Only through their professional, prompt and efficient team intervention, that I was able rapidly recover and was fit for discharge the evening of Dec. 1st.
There are many individuals that I would like to thank for their professional and empathetic care, to include but not limited to the following (as I do not have individual name available to me), but most especially the surgeon, who coordinated my care.
Orthopaedic Surgeon;
Medical Consultants;
Anaesthesiologist;
Medical Officer;
Nursing staff;
Physiotherapists;
Pharmacy staff';
Laboratory staff;
Food service staff.
With highest regards and much thanks to all.
"Received excellent, professional care."
