Came to the Minor Injuries Unit with a chunk taken out of my foot. There was no-one at reception, we waited for about 10 minutes and another staff member that was walking through had to go and call someone, and even then they took ages to come out. The nurse didn't even acknowledge us in the waiting room until she'd sat down and done a few things behind the desk. Luckily the waiting room was empty and once booked in I was called in fairly quickly. When called in, I had to hop through to the ward. They didn't offer me a wheelchair or even help me. My sister was on one side of me and as I hopped into the ward I fell over, literally because I had been hopping for much longer than I thought I'd be. None of the several staff in there helped me up. None of them helped my sister trying to get me up. None of them offered a wheelchair or even physical support. The nurse I was seeing told me to put pressure down on my foot otherwise I'd fall over again. I did and was visibly in pain but they didn't seem to care. The nurse seeing me was stand-offish and rude as if I was wasting her time. Once she opened my makeshift DIY bandage and realised that my wound was open and actually pretty bad, she switched and starting being nice to me. Up until then I had felt like I'd been fobbed off. I was offered a wheelchair on the way out thankfully, but really they all need to work on their attitude as I'm sure they assumed that I was wasting their time.
