Having been identified with a potential heart problem I was sent to the Royal Albert Cardiology Department for an angiogram. I was extremely impressed with the staff, all of them, from the reception to the nurses in the unit and the doctors who carried out the procedure. I was kept fully informed at all times of how the procedure would work and the staff were kindness and courtesy personified. Afterwards I was given an honest appraisal of my condition which, thankfully, was not too serious and re-assuring. I was given a ham sandwich and cup of tea as refreshment and transferred to recovery where, again, I was treated with respect and courtesy. It seems that nothing was too much trouble for the staff. A real credit to the NHS and those criticising it without having experienced the service are deluded. Great work, keep it up, and heartfelt thanks.
