Attended Treliske CCU on 14/12/18 (my Birthday)for heart pressure test and subsequent fitting of stent. Staff were wonderful and caring to myself and my Wife and we were kept fully informed and cared for at all times. We were constantly checked on although they were busy.
The locum Consultant Cardiologist was incredible and I really hope RCH realise just how good he is and do all in their power to keep him as he is an asset to good to lose. The staff who assisted him are in a class of their own and put me totally at ease(even a rendition of Happy Birthday).
This was my third visit to Treliske CCU the first in 2008 when following a severe AI their prompt action most definitely saved my life and after a spell in Intensive Care I spent almost a month in CCU being cared for while recovering. The second visit was an angiogram when it was good to still see some staff from my previous visit.
Treliske constantly takes a bashing from the press but where else in the UK is there a lack of fair funding to deal with such a huge seasonal variation of population numbers or so many elderly people retiring after spending their healthy years elsewhere.
I am proud to say I have paid my dues my entire working life and am extremely grateful that now my health is poor Treliske Hospital is there for me.
