"Rude & impatient receptionist"

About: Claremont Holyport Surgery

I called to book a routine appointment with my GP today, I was greeted by someone on reception who sounded as though that was the last place they wanted to be and all they said was ‘I hope you don’t want an emergency appointment’. I understand the surgery is busy, but if I had wanted an emergency appointment this would have put me off asking. Luckily I wanted a routine appointment however due to my previous medical history I wanted to see my usual doctor, I wasn’t given the chance to ask this and felt to scared to ask the receptionist.

I have heard lots of previous complaints about this particular receptionist and to be frank do not understand how they are possibly still working there !

I prevent booking appointment to my GO just so I don’t have to talk to the receptionist, thankfully I can use the app !

We are sorry that you have reason to make the above comments about a member of the Reception Team and we are disappointed that you have had a bad experience and would like to apologise for any upset caused.

It is only when matters as these are raised that we can ensure that the highest possible levels of patient service and care are being offered. The receptionist role can be challenging particularly when we have limited appointments, we always feedback patients comments to staff at training days to understand the patients experience and make improvements to our service
