"My treatment and care"

About: University Hospital Ayr / Accident & Emergency University Hospital Ayr / Combined Assessment Unit (CAU)

(as a service user),

I was admitted with chest pain radiating into my throat, having recently been diagnosed with AF and pulmonary hypertension. It turned out I was having a prolonged episode of PAF, with a heart rate of 190. Everyone I encountered, from Dr Sarah and nurse Aileen in resus to the nursing and ancillary staff in the CAU, was the epitome of such kindness and compassion that I was quite overwhelmed by their care and attentiveness towards me. Three ladies in particular deserve a special mention for the way they treated me and looked after me. They are SN Gemma, SN Claire and HCA Lindsay. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were always cheery and smiling, despite the fact that they were working over Christmas. They always had time for a chat and a kind and reassuring word, which was very welcome
