"Care during heart surgery at ERI"

About: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Cardiology & Coronary Care Unit

(as a service user),

I was recently an inpatient at ERI for heart surgery. Mr Pessoto performed and aortic valve replacement and ascending aorta graft.

I spent a day in intensive care and then was moved to high dependancy before arriving in ward 102.

The level of care that I received pre, during and after my surgery was absolutely amazing.

I would like to thank everyone from the outpatient clinics to the surgeon, doctors, nurses domestics and porters.

My surgery was on in July 2018 and I was back at work on Oct 1st 2018

Dear Fighting fit

Thank you very much for sharing your feedback with us via Care Opinion. I was so pleased to read about the care and treatment that you received from all the staff following your heart surgery at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh in the summer. I was delighted to read that you were able to get back to work only a few weeks after your surgery.

I have shared your lovely feedback with the clinical team and I am sure that they will be delighted to read your kind words.

Happy New Year when it comes and best wishes for 2019.

Kind regards

Jeannette

You are very welcome Gordon.

The first 2 nurses that I remember after coming round were Sam (Staff nurse I believe) and Darcy who was just a couple of weeks short of graduating. They were amazing as was everyone else.

Regards
