"Care for Deep Vein Thrombosis"

About: Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary

(as the patient),

At the Start of Summer 2006, I was a Registered IV Drug User & due to the Poor Quality Heroin in the West of the Region. I was rushed to Dumfries with Clots, I now realise I was extremely lucky because I ended up in ICU for a Week before being moved onto the ward, anyways since I'm writing this I obviously Survived the Episode & all in I spent the Whole of the Summer in Hospital & since then, Thankfully I have Gotten my Life back in Order & am now Drug Free. Dr. Green was my Doctor & NOT ONCE did she say it was all my own doing (which it was!). So I spent 7.5 weeks in Hospital & the Food was Great, as was the Care I received!! Great Healthcare Professionals & I now take each day as it comes & always feel thankful

Thank you so much for sharing your story with us. I'm really pleased to hear of the positive part the hospital played in your recovery but without your determination what you have acheived wouldn't have been possible. Your story will give hope and confidence to others who read it and who may currently be in the position you were once in so thank you again for sharing!

Dr Green will be very touched to receive these kind words from you and you're right, the food is great here!
