My daughter has pulmonary hypertension she had it since birth on going she got admitted with fluid and infection on her lungs I asked the doctors have u spoken to her specialist doctors to which I got the reply not yet my daughter then got put in hdu and was supposed to be on cpap but the ward didn't have the equipment that my daughter needed for it so put her on opti flow,
She had a blue episode still her specialists were not informed I had to ring them myself to let them know she was in.
My daughter also has had other issues on ward with not having her feeding regime followed or been looked at when she was clearly struggling with breathing and her chest and heart rate was too fast. I had to ask for a doctor no one came got very frustrated as any parent would, but to be told oh u have mental health issues and are incapable we are the professionals we know what we are doing is just pure rude. Nobody helped and in my opinion my daughter was failed.
I just hope no one else goes through what me and my daughter went through its awful needs proper assessment and parents should be listened to when they have great concerns not a place I want my child. defo needs improvement as in my opinion standards have slipped and nurses don't have time for patients. no doctors seemed present or willing to help with patients who have long term illnesses
"I have great concerns about the childrens ward"
