10 years ago I lost the sight in my left eye due to Central Retina Vein Occlusion and between then and now have suffered a few problems.
In December 2018 My wife and I took our grand daughter to Venice for a long weekend and during that time I felt that my left eye was becoming sore. Upon return to Scotland, I telephoned Ward 25 at Ninewells Hospital as I was now in extreme discomfort and becoming desperate.
I was prescribed a series of drops to be taken every 30 minutes, but because there was no marked difference I was admitted to ward 26 a few days later.
I was examined and an ulcer was found in my left eye which also had a pressure reading of 74 (I understand that the normal pressure is between 12 and 20) I was in agony.
Each morning and evening I was examined by Doctors who prescribed my treatment until I was discharged this week. I returned to Ninewells on the following day for laser treatment and am due to return for a check up.
The choice and quality of food was excellent.
I CANNOT THANK THE DOCTORS AND NURSING STAFF ENOUGH FOR EVERYTHING THAT THEY HAVE DONE FOR ME. EVERYONE WAS ALWAYS COURTEOUS, PROFESSIONAL, POLITE AND EXTREMELY CARING.
ONCE AGAIN, THANK YOU.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,
"Central Retina Vein Occlusion"
