I gave birth to my son at Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Birth Centre in November 2018, and could not have hoped for more professional or compassionate care.
I called the unit in advance of going in, and when I arrived, the wonderful midwife had the room and birthing pool ready for me. My husband and I were supported amazingly throughout the birth, with the midwife guiding, encouraging and reassuring me throughout, but in a 'hands off' way until the actual delivery, so that everything felt far more natural and less 'medical' than with my first child (who was born on a ward). The whole experience felt very personal, caring and nurturing. After the birth, Ann tended to me and the baby with much the same genuine care, then ensured that my husband and I were supplied with tea and toast before being settled into one of the family rooms. We were taken great care of there before being discharged the same day (we were keen to get home, to introduce our toddler to her brother).
The whole birth centre has a wonderful ethos and a great team. We couldn't be more grateful.
"Amazing birth centre"
