"First born baby and babys first visit"

About: Lister Hospital

The NHS gets a lot of bad press from people in the country. The staff at lister hospital are absolutely fantastic! We had our first baby in the midwife led unit and the staff and care was outstanding, they were always with us when needed and were understanding and helpful. From the moment we arrived they constantly kept us up to date with the progress, next steps and options going forward, even at the end of their 12 hour shift they were bright and happy.

At 5 days old we became concerned about our new baby being sleepy, not feeding too well and dozy. We phoned the CLU and they told us to attend A&E. As soon as we arrived we were taken in and our child was immediately under care of a nurse. She quickly checked him over and thankfully his sugar levels were slightly low and he got cold. They kept us in the room for a short while and checked him all over, helped us to ensure he had a full feed and then rechecked his sugars and temperature and discharged us. Even as we were leaving the nurse was informing us of assistance for feeding and offered to spend a short while with us to ensure we were happy.

The level & speed of help was unbeatable and we are so thankful and so lucky to have the NHS in this country and such a great team at Lister.

Thank you so much to all the staff

Thank you for your review Ray. We're very pleased to hear that you've had a great experience of the hospital, using both our maternity and children's A&E service. We will make sure your feedback is shared with both teams and we wish you well for the future.
