"A & E Service"

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford)

I had a heart problem on Saturday 8 December, a friend who is a retired nurse advised me to go for a check. I arrived at A & E about 8.30 pm, details were taken and I waited about an hour to be seen whereupon I was given an E.C.G test followed by blood tests. The staff were polite, knowledgeable and cheery which is good for imparting confidence to a patient. After the blood tests results were with the medical team I was given the all clear but told to book for a heart monitor to be fitted as soon as possible to give a twenty four hour check on my heart.

I have no complaints whatsoever, I was expecting a very long wait as it was a Saturday evening but it was all dealt with in under five hours, very acceptable, especially as the N.H.S is suffering a staff shortage. I thanked those involved with heart felt gratitude, no pun intended, they are true, dedicated professionals.

All N.H.S hospitals should have an A&E department and if the one here is closed some useless top management should be severely injured and then denied access to private care, they may then understand the concern of us ordinary people.
