"Trying to get off drugs"

About: Guernsey House / Primary care addiction service Sheffield (PCASS)

(as a service user),

I have been coming to Guernsey House for 7 weeks approximately. I have currently been drug free for the past 11 weeks and hope to reduce off my methadone asap.

One to one help should be available, with more information about it. The Dr has been very helpful with my recovery. It would be nice to know that help is there if I need it, just to talk and get advice when times are hard.

Part of the difficulty is that I live in an area with lots of users in the same building and this makes my recovery really difficult, I could do with someone to contact about this.

Thank you very much for taking the time to let us know about your recent experience and observations regarding your treatment at Guernsey House.

It does appear that having been in contact with our service for the past couple of months that you have really valued the help offered by the doctor whom you have been supported by during this time period.

I sense from your posting that you have recognised that not all of the current difficulties / problems you're experiencing can be fully dealt with in discussion with your doctor during your appointments at Guernsey House.

May I take this opportunity to encourage you to discuss the range and the type of support you believe may be helpful for you e.g help associated with housing difficulties, with the doctor whom sees you at your next appointment at Guernsey House .Please feel free though to contact Guernsey House at anytime prior to your next appointment ,should you wish to make arrangements to be provided with more support/help.

As a service, we want to provide the most suitable level of support that allows a person to achieve their treatment goals , these goals can sometimes can more fully achieved when working with more than one professional e.g. It may be helpful to see a doctor but as you have indicated it may also help to have other professionals (such as the Nurses and Drug Workers based at Guernsey House) involved with in helping you achieve your treatment goals .

Thanks Again for you comments and well done regarding the work that you've obviously 'put in' to get and to stay drug free.
