"Minor Injuries physiotherapist"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

Attended A&E at around 5.00pm, following a fall the previous day, which caused an injury to my knee.

The TV screen in Reception area indicated a waiting time of 3.5 hours but I was seen by a physiotherapist half an hour after my arrival.   The physiotherapist, an, was a very polite young man who explained clearly each part of his examination. He arranged x-rays which he then compared with an x-ray taken earlier this year and which confirmed the findings of his manual examination.

I was able to leave the hospital just before 7.00pm with crutches, Cocodamol and advice/info regarding the next few weeks. Excellent and efficient service all round.

Dear indusqw48

Thanks so much for posting your comments online. I am delighted to hear that you had a positive experience within A&E and you didn't have to wait long to be seen. Having a Physiotherapist within the dept is a great for patients like yourself presenting with a musculoskeletal injury. With the expert advice given I hope your knee is recovering well and you are back to your normal activities soon. I will ensure your comments are passed on to Alan himself.

Thanks again

Claire Rae

Dear indusqw48,

Many thanks for taking the time to post your experience during your visit to ED.

Firstly apologies that the waiting time screen was inaccurate and I will remind the staff to ensure this reflects the accurate time.

I would echo what Claire has fed back to you on the excellent service that Alan provides.

I hope you are recovering and taking things easy.

Best wishes

Andy
