About: Queen Charlotte's Hospital

What I liked

I was admitted to hospital on a Friday evening as I had severe abdominal pains. I was obviously incredibly worried being pregnant with twins and only at 33 weeks pregnant. The staff got me in to the twin delivery room immediately, and doctors and nurses attended to me within 5 minutes of arriving. They were polite, kind, professional and advised my husband and I of everything they were doing and what they felt needed to be done. They thought the babies may need to be delivered the next day but thankfully they didn't rush to give my babies steroids and decided to keep monitoring me throughout the night. Thankfully my pain dissipated and I was cleared to go home the next day. I was attended by 3 doctors and 4 nurses during my stay and we were advised each time of a change of shift, introduced to the new staff member and advised of what my ongoing care was. I was incredibly nervous of using the hospital on the NHS as I had had my first child privately at Queen Charlottes. I have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised with the service and care I experienced on the delivery suite and commend the staff for the great work they are doing. I can now look forward to the delivery of my twins at this hospital.

What could be improved

I wasn't able to have any water as the water jugs appeared to be finished as the delivery suite was rather full. Luckily my husband was able to go and buy some bottled water nearby.
