I arrived from Louth on Tuesday 11 December for my Pre-assessment appointment at 2.15. I was seen at 2pm and asked if I would like to have my cataract removal done that afternoon rather than waiting until February 2019. Completely shocked and amazed, I accepted! I cannot praise all the staff from the Assessment Centre, the ward and the operating theatre enough. They all without exception treated me with the utmost care and compassion, aware that as I have no sight in my right eye I was nervous about the operation on my left eye in case there were complications. We returned home in the early evening. The next morning I could hardly believe the amazing view out of our bedroom window - bright, clear and wonderful, I could even distinguish the colour of the birds on the feeder and the flowers in the border. I felt very emotional about being so fortunate to have had such wonderful treatment.
Thank you so much for restoring my view of our amazing world, I am so very excited about being able to birdwatch, take my photographs and see clearly again. A wonderful Christmas present! I would also like to thank the compassionate and concerned consultant I saw at Skegness Hospital in October who recommended that I the operation should be done.
Resting now with a big smile on my face. A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and so many thanks to you all.
