"A fantastic step in the right direction"

About: Borders General Hospital / General Medicine Borders General Hospital / Respiratory Medicine

(as the patient),

I had the misfortune to be admitted to hospital with a bad chest infection and finished up in Ward 4 Medical Ward in Dec 2018. Not able to move around much due to breathlessness I was concerned, however my concerns were soon laid to rest when entering this emporium of the most caring, energetic, friendly, eager to help staff. From the essential cleaners to the most experienced medical professionals, everyone just gelled to provide the most efficient fast solutions to all patient problems and requirements, it was a joy to observe.

What was particularly gratifying was to see how many young energetic people are now caring not only in Ward 4, but also in all the medical wards, having youth fulfil these responsible positions is a fantastic step in the right direction for any organisation, and particularly appropriate in the medical profession. I wish to extend my heart felt thanks to all the carers I had the pleasure to come into contact with, Thank You

Thank you Maverick. That is really good to hear how you felt that your care was delivered. Team working by all members of staff is essential to provide the high levels of care to which we aspire. We will pass on your comments to the ward team. I wish you a speedy recovery. Best wishes.
