My daughter was referred to the orthodontic/oral surgeons.
We received an appointment to see the oral surgeon.
First appointment was over the phone and a few days later we received a letter for a different day.
I had to change this appointment for another day.
When we arrived for the appointment we were greeted by a nurse and asked to go for x-ray.
My daughter had x-rays at the orthodontist only a couple of weeks previously so as I knew they did not need repeating.
The nurse was quite rude and said the consultant would not see my daughter without the x-rays. She then told me it was the orthodontists responsibility to get the x-rays to them.
I work in another hospital and know that we would always get x-rays from other hospitals if required.
I had to ring the orthodontist myself and get the images transferred over.
We then got to see the consultant, who did not even look in her mouth.
He told us we had to be referred to the hospitals orthodontist before any surgery could be planned.
We then received another letter to ask her to go for x-rays.
I rang the x-ray department and cancelled.
This worries me how many people are you x-raying needlessly wasting NHS resources and irradiating patients needlessly.
We then received a letter stating the orthodontist could not accept the referral.
We then received another letter for an appointment back with the same oral surgeon, which I presume is pointless.
I politely tried to cancel this today only to be told to ring another number.
I am afraid you have wasted too much of my time and maybe some of those wasted appointments stated on your letters may be due to your own inefficiency.
"Poor service"
