"Lack of communucation between Doctors and patients"

About: Rotherham Hospital

My husband is currently on Ward B5,he as been told he as a tumour,he is having a stoma op Tuesday 4th December.I have found it very difficult to get any information about his treatment plan.On my visit today on the 3rd December I asked several.times if I could speak to one of the Doctors to no avail. My husband was not fully aware of the treatment plan as he was very sleepy and at times a bit rambling having had Morphine for his pain.I feel.that communication with patients spouses is important as they are often left feeling overlooked in the all process. We are the ones who.become the carers when our loved ones come home.I know very little about the cancer he as got and no one as taken the time to tell me.

Dear Anonymous

Further to my previous email this morning I strongly advise you to contact the Patient Experience Team in order that we can look into the matter in more detail as we will require a certain level of personal information that we would not be allowed to share via social media.

Kindest regards

Samantha, Head of Patient Experience
