"These people are angels"

About: Borders General Hospital / Maternity care Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

I had a very fast delivery of my baby at home.

The paramedics were amazing.

They came in and took control of the situation. Made me and my baby feel safe. Nothing was rushed. Nothing made me feel nervous or scared. They explained everything to me and my worried husband.

They got us settled and gave me pain relief and got us into the ambulance and took us to labour ward. These people are angels. They also took control of the situation and checked us over. The level of care from this pressured service is amazing. Myself and our new baby girl are thriving at home.

I would just like to reach out and get these wonderful people the recognition they deserve. I cannot thank them more.

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter. It is great to hear how safe you felt with your care - I am sure this was a worrying time for you and your husband. I shall share your feedback with the appropriate teams they will be delighted to hear your kind words.

best wishes

Dear Aggy,

Thank you so much for taking the time toshare your feedback with us all on CareOpinion. Congratulations to you and your family on the safe arrival of your baby girl and I would like to take this opportunity to say I wish you and the entirety of your family a very happy time together. My little girl is now 16 weeks old and my wife also had quite an unexpected birth so I can sympathise with the frightening position it can put you in and for you to have such a positive memory of the crew in a situation like that speaks volumes about the professionalism that our crew carried out their duties with.

May I ask that you please contact me at alan.martin2@nhs.net as I would really like to ask a few more details to allow me to trace the crew and make sure your lovely words are passed on to the staff and their manager. I will need the date, time and location that the vehicle attended you at and of course your name.

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas with the most precious gift anyone could ever ask for!

Kind Regards

Alan

Dear Aggy

I would like to just echo Alan's comments and congratulations on your new addition to your family, I am always keen to hear about the praise lots of our patients have about the hard working crews and yours is no exception, many thanks for sharing your experience and if you would be able to give Alan more details I will personally write to the crew with your thanks and kind words of their professionalism and care.

Enjoy your Christmas time

John Alexander, QAM
