When Intra Health was running the surgeries there was constant complaints from the patients, mainly about the telephone systems, lack of appointments, Doctors, Nurses and administration staff were just starting and then leaving, I think the practice has had four managers over a period of two years all in all the patients were receiving a very poor standard of service, I think it would be fair to say patient care was on the point of collapse
Sunderland GP Alliance came in and over the last two years after a lot of very hard work from everyone has turned it around, a new telephone system has been installed with text's reminders for appointments, prescriptions by email, the staff are much happier, more ANP's however Doctor recruitment remains a problem however the management team are working to address this issue. I would expect the team to say that there is still much to do.
Patients who do not turn up for appointments "DNA" cause a lot of management issues which the Practice Manager and his team are working hard to resolve, also the Practice engages with schools and local community groups which further reinforces the hard work currently under way.
