"My daughter"

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford) / Accident and emergency William Harvey Hospital (Ashford) / Neurology

(as a parent/guardian),

We spent 9hrs in A&E before being moved to kennington ward.  My daughter has chronic intracranial hypertension and the pressure had built up in her brain so she needs to see a neurologist . Think she was put on this ward because there was nowhere else for her to go. I left my daughter at 04.00 after being told I couldn't stay on the ward and I couldn't go back until 10am the next day. After I drove back to Canterbury after being awake for 22 hrs my daughter txt to let me know that other visitors were allowed to stay. Not very happy I returned to see her at 10.30am. She had been told that a CT scan had been booked. I sat quietly with her until 12.15pm when I once again was told to leave . The staff member was very abrupt and quite rude , and again other visitors were still with their family member.

This was a stressful time for my daughter and myself and being spoken to like that made our stay awful.
