"Children’s observation ward"

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary

Why when you are sent to the children’s wards are their no beds or camp beds or recling chairs for parents for the under 12s?? It’s not like you can leave them alone? I sat on a chair with no arms for 7hrs thank god we didn’t stay overnight.

I had to come with my 9mth old he wasn’t fed , their was no baby cutlery. Also why are parents under12s not fed or parents given a drink?? Yes you have a parents room but no coffee no tea no milk in fact nothing but a kettle and microwave, again you can’t leave your baby alone to walk miles away to get a drink.

I’m an NHS nurse and I take pride in our NHS but we waste so much money on other services drug addicts, obesity, alcoholism, smokers and respiratory illnesses caused by poor living and lack of health education and promotion yet we can’t eveb get basics right for young children and parents . Please try and address these issues it’s just appalling .

Yes the nursing care was good and the staff fabulous but sort out the major caring points, then you’ll get a better cqc rating
