About: Beardwood Hospital

I went to the beardwood for an NHS consultation with a neurosurgeon concerning severe back pain I had an mri scan done at royal blackburn about 6 weeks previous ,during the consultation the surgeon asked the nurse where the scan pictures were she didn't know . I took a copy the scan report with me and the report is useless with out the pictures as a result my time was wasted and the surgeons. Now I have to wait nearly 6 months for another appointment with the surgeon to discuss the results . I am still in severe pain and it could 12 months before I have surgery . If I was a private patient this hospital the outcome would been more organized . NHS patients don,t matter I will be seeking a referral via GP to somewhere else

The experience you describe is certainly not what we would expect. The public nature of this website and our duty to protecting your confidentiality means that I cannot respond in great detail here, but I wanted to reassure you and anyone else reading this that experiences like the one you describe are extremely rare and certainly not what we wish for our patients. I will look into this and we will take action at the hospital to ensure this doesn't happen again.
