"Exemplary care and treatment"

About: Brinsworth Medical Centre

I don’t usually go out of my way to leave feedback or reviews, but I feel so appreciative about the care and treatment I received from one of the doctors I saw today.

I’ve had repeated UTI’s and visited the walk-in centre for convenience previously, but made their recommended GP appointment if it recurs again. I wasn’t sure what more they could do to help, but made the appointment anyway, and was prepared for, and expected, a quick visit with some more antibiotics. However, the doctor I saw looked at my whole situation, and within the context of another health problem, and said I should have a few tests for certain things, and explained her rationale and what she was looking for. I was surprised, more at the attention she gave, and taking the time to look at my situation as a whole, and most importantly to find out the cause of my problems, and not just look at the symptoms which brought me in.

I know GP’s are incredibly busy and practices are overstretched, and that they have limited time to spend with each patient, and that this is simply how the health service is currently and probably more to do with politics than anything else. It is a shame because I think this kind of appointment would happen more often if GP’s were not so overstretched and were able more time to spend with people.

I just wanted to express my thanks and gratitude to the doctor I saw for taking her time and being so thorough and holistic in her approach. I can’t remember her name, but she was upstairs in the Brinsworth practice.

Thank you for taking the time to feed this back to us.

It is lovely to hear that you had such a positive experience.

A 'person-centered' approach to health and well-being is the ultimate aim of modern medicine, as placing the person as a whole at the centre of any healthcare decisions makes a huge difference to the outcome for that patient. I will ensure I pass your feedback onto the doctor you saw and the entire team.

Thank you again for informing us of this.

Kind regards

Spencer Oates, Practice Manager
