My wife was refered to UCLH gynaecology by her GP following a private consultation which indicated a double prolapse. The first senior consultant she saw was professional, thoughtful and clearly explained the issues and risks. My wife was offered surgery. Initially he said that he was going to operate on only one prolapse but during the operation decided to deal with both. Following the operation my wife was told that the surgery had addressed the major issues but she may need additional surgery to address other issues.
In a further consutlation the usual consultant wasn't available. The second senior consultant we saw was appalling. He had zero empathy, he didn't listen and he was arrogant. He said he wasn't going to offer any follow up surgery and only offered a poor quality temporary solution. Due to his poor social skills he shouldn't be employed in such a prestigeous hospital or indeed anywhere.
Chalk and cheese.
We decided to deal with tbe outstanding issues in the private sector.
