"Treatment Center"

About: West Cornwall Hospital (Penzance)

I had what should have been a routine screening procedure over a week ago. For reasons that are not entirely clear, or I'm not being told, I'm still suffering the after effects. The after care support is non existent and now find myself on medication to negate the effects of what was done.

Dear Anonymous,

Thank you for taking the time to share your story with us, I was sorry to read that you are still suffering with the after effects of your procedure and that you have since been put on medication to tackle the effects.

We would really like to look into these particular events for you; if you would be happy for us to do so or if there are any other concerns we can help to resolve for you and your partner please contact our Patient and Family Experience (Complaints) team by leaving a message on 01872 252793 or email rcht.patientexperience@nhs.net. Once we have received your details, a Case Worker will get back to you within 3-5 working days to discuss your concerns with you. They can then liaise directly with the department you are referring to and ensure that your experience is investigated.

I am responding to you as a member of the Patient and Family Experience team, but I will share your story with the screening department at West Cornwall Hospital so that they can reflect on your comments; especially those surrounding the lack of after care support so that they can put changes in place to ensure this doesn't happen again.

Best wishes,

Jess
