My GP referred me to the colorectal department in outpatients where I was seen by the consultant , he was very straightforward at what was obviously a worrying time for me. He arranged CT and MRI scans and an urgent colonoscopy. I was amazed that time scales were exactly as he said they would be. Following the colonoscopy I returned to see the consultant who explained everything clearly and referred me to the oncologist, who arranged chemo/radiotherapy at QA hospital. Having completed the treatment I returned to St Richards Fernhurst centre to see the oncologist again, he explained further CT and MRI scans would be required and said the time frame for these also explained the next steps from the scans. I am amazed at everything being arranged within the time frames I was told , no anxious waiting and no uncertainty about the treatment. St Richards Hospital and its team of Consultants are doing an excellent job. Thank you
