"Delay in Treatment of a patient with cancer"

About: St John's Hospital / X-rays & Scans Western General Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

I was diagnosed with prostate cancer earlier this year following an MRI scan in which two consultants then had a difference of opinion regarding any treatment plan.

My symptoms then worsened in the last few months I then had a further MRI which showed a secondary growth and a black shadow, I have been informed I have to be admitted for a series of biopsies. I had a pre operation assessment approximately 9 weeks ago and have now been told I need to wait until February or March of next year for these biopsies to be carried out.  I find this unacceptable and very distressing not only for me but also my family as we are left in limbo.  We are now unsure if the cancer has further spread and what the future holds for me.
