I was referred to ambulatory care by my GP, who was concerned about my chest pains and high heart rate. I arrived and was ignored for a few minutes by a very sarcastic and rude receptionist. They read my referral letter and said 'I've had my chest infection for a month, I only started antibiotics now.' As if waiting over a month for treatment is something to aim for?
They went to speak to the doctor, the doctor came out- ignored me, scanned my letter and then crossed through where my GP had written ambulatory care. Told the receptionist to tell me to go to A&E. Even though I was standing in front of them.
My GP had referred me to them as they wanted me to get a few tests to rule out anything more serious than flu, and had been concerned about my heart rate. As far as I'm aware this is the sort of thing ambulatory care deal with?
"I was standing in front of them."
