Following abnormal update on a DOTA scan and an ultrasound that showed numerous issues, along with numerous gynae symptoms I was seen by a registrar gynaecologist.
The appointment was a waste of time; the DOTA scan images hadn't been requested from another hospital, so it wasn't possible to compare the abnormalities highlighted on the scans.
I asked the registrar directly if they would request the images, I wasn't given a straight answer and was fobbed off with excuses. Clearly they had no intention of requesting the images. I therefore asked for a second opinion - I've now received a letter to say that this request for a 2nd opinion has been rejected.
We are reminded about wasting hospital time and resources by not cancelling appointments that we cannot make or no longer require, but it seems perfectly acceptable that doctors can waste hospital resources and patients time by not investigating issues completely. I completely fail to see why they bothered with an ultrasound scan and a consultation when they had no intention of following up the results fully.
The whole process has left me with more unanswered questions and unresolved symptoms.
I have already made a complaint about this Trust; the outcome of my complaint was a whitewash, this Trust is a disgrace.
I am now seeking legal advice and will be discussing my many concerns with CQC etc
