I self-referred to Physio after suffering lower back pain for many years .After phoning the department I was given a next day appointment . On arrival at the Physio Dept (which was easy to find as it was well sign posted) I went to the front desk where I was asked to fill in a form about my problem (I was also asked if I needed any help to fill it in) , the form took about 10 minuets to complete and was easy to do . Right on time of my appointment a physiotherapist called my name , we had a chat about my symptoms and a painless examination of my back . I was shown a few simple exercises to do that I could do at home which i did both morning and night lying on my bed . I had a few follow on appointments where I was shown more exercises, yet again easy to do . I was seen by the same physiotherapist at each appointment which is so much more preferable than seeing different ones . Today I got signed off as I feel confident that i can manage my back pain with the exercises that have been shown to me and of which has now just become routine to do both morning and night (it really isn't a chore) . I will always suffer from a problem back but I now feel better equipped to manage it . My many thanks to the Physiotherapy team who managed to see me at all the appointed times( never once were they late) for helping me get a better understanding of pain management and for always smiling . Would I recommend Self-Referral Physiotherapy to some else ? Too right I would .
Thank You :) :)
And breath ;)
