I had the most fantastic care from all of the team on the maternity ward when my little girl was delivered in June. Despite not liking hospitals and hoping for a calm water birth, I needed to be induced as my baby was overdue. I am so grateful for the care we were given, my daughter was delivered by emergency section on the 15th June as the cord had wrapped around her neck several times. Our midwife was amazing, she was so reassuring and helped to keep me calm through the lengthy induction / contractions, she stayed beyond the end of her shift to come to theatre with us. The consultant who delivered our baby, the anaesthetist who provided the epidural, and the theatre staff were also amazing and put me at total ease. The team who looked after me on the ward were so helpful, just the little things like remembering how you like you cup of tea make such a difference. My mum and partner were made to feel so welcome and were looked after too. The whole experience was so positive and completely changed my view of hospital care. I feel very lucky and humbled by the care we received. The expertise of the staff enabled the safe birth of my little girl, I know without this care the circumstances would certainly have been very different and I will be eternally grateful. I would not hesitate to recommend Macclesfield for maternity care.
