I was discharged from Whiston 2 days ago after a 4 night stay following an extensive surgical procedure. Words cannot express my gratitude to everyone involved in decision making and the delivery of excellent care. I work in an alternative health care space and understand some of what it takes to deliver the level of service I have received. I feel it is a blessing to have been worked on by the hands of some very experienced and dedicated surgeons, the results of which for me, will have long term life enhancing effects. I tried to thank the anaesthetists and other staff I encountered briefly but am aware there is a whole team of theatre staff , whom I never met, but to whom I am thankful for their part in my procedure. My gratitude doesn't end there. I am thankful to all the wonderful nurses, HCAs, Physiotherapists, ward doctors, Holistic therapist, students, the catering crew, the domestic staff and the clerical team. Everyone plays an important part in the process and everyone was so professional and respectful. I'm aware of 'compassion fatigue' but never experienced that at any stage over my journey to where I am now. The staff of ward 3A are a great bunch of happy people who make a real difference to the lives of the patients they interact with, at a time when those people are at their most vulnerable. Some of the staff, whom i shall identify elsewhere as more appropriate, are truely inspirational.
There is little left to say other than thank you all so very much.
Keep up the good work.
