"Disappointing outcome"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Neurosurgery

(as the patient),

What an amazing group of nurses; attentive team and exceptional care. It’s a shame the consultant my care was provided under had no bedside manner whatsoever. Poor planning over a weekend involved a longer than needed hospital stay and since discharge absolutely no follow up despite having tests. Poor approach to patient communication by a busy medical neuro team and I’m afraid a disappointing outcome considering the level of pain I’m left in.

Thanks for your feedback. Your kind words about the nurses who looked after you are appreciated. I’m sorry that you felt let down by your consultant’s bedside manner. This is incredibly disappointing to hear, including the impact this had on your overall experience. I hope that we can resolve this for you. Please get in touch with our patient experience team so they can find out more from you as it is important we learn from this, which may include speaking to the consultant directly to ask that they reflect on the impact of their behaviours. You can contact our patient experience team on 0115 924 9924 ext 66623 or email QMCPET@nuh.nhs.uk to take this forward.

Kind regards

Simon Parsons

Divisional Director for Surgery
