I collapsed in the hospital itself after arriving in a taxi with acute abdominal pain. I was in the worst pain I have ever experienced and fairly frightened, assuming something really bad was happening to me. I was seen immediately in A&E (the crying with pain must have helped) and the team were calm, sensitive and extremely professional. After having a scan it was confirmed that I had a kidney stone and was sent to another ward to be monitored. There I was looked after by a Nurse who again went out of her way to be reassuring, absolutely on top of my pain medication and very caring. I haven't been in a hospital for 14 years and I was extremely impressed by the teamwork I encountered. The hospital may need some tender, loving care in terms of maintenance, but the nursing staff were outstanding. Both my husband and I were overwhelmed by the care I received and cannot thank the staff enough, particularly a member of staff in A&E and one in the ward. I wish I could remember everyone's names, and would be grateful if you would pass on my thanks. It was the morning of Saturday November 24.
"Great Professionalism & kindness in the extreme"
