What I liked
treatment in the breast unit
What could be improved
after leaving breast unit i was taken to a room on ward 209 my obs and details were taken at 9 15 am an other lady arrived at 9 30 her details were taken in front of my partner and me. we were both left in this room on hard plastic chairs .we had to ask if they knew when our operations would take place i was told sometime in the morning. i suffer from fibromyalgia which gets worse with stress. i felt trapped in the room as i didnt know when i would be fetched for surgery.i had to be at the breast unit for 8 00 am having nothing to eat for 12 hours which meant i couldn t take my painkillers.my last drink was 6 00am . someone came at 1200 to say the other lady would be taken at 1300 and i would be after her. at no point did any member of staff ask if we were ok.anything we wanted to know we had to find someone to ask. i was in great pain by the time i was taken for my op at 3 10pm i was disgusted by the total lack of care, total lack of information and total lack of comfort shown to us on this ward.
"disgusting lack of caring at a distressing time"
