"Maternity services"

About: Peterborough City Hospital / Maternity

I had my daughter here on Friday, not really expecting to go in to labour! I arrived at the antinatal day unit late afternoon with a few worries. I had called up previously and given an appointment so no waiting around! Straight away I was treated with care and was listened to! After Randomly going in to labour I was asked I wanted to do! Not dictated to. Things went ALOT quicker than anticipated and I ended up in the midwife led unit. Wow. Everyone I saw was amazing! Again, I was listened to and encouraged to do what I felt was right. I was holding my daughter within an hour of being admitted! The midwife who admitted me was great! Quick shift change over, the midwife who delivered my daughter was amazing!! I’m devastated I didn’t have my other 3 children here!

Once on the ward, we got the same level of care! Every member of staff was great. They knew exactly when to step in and when to step back!

The only improvement I could recommend is having a toaster in delivery! Nobody fancies an egg sandwich when you have just given birth!
