"My Portsmouth Ophthalmology Dept experience."

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital / Ophthalmology

August 2017 I was admitted to A&E with an excruciating head pain. This was swiftly diagnosed as Acute angle closure glaucoma.Pressure in Right eye was 64.Within a few hours the pressure had come down.I was then given Iridotomy to both eyes and multiple drops. It was decided to remove both cataracts over a period.I can now see without glasses

and risk of returning glaucoma greatly reduced. The staff and doctors were brilliant and I was treated with great courtesy at all times and informed of the procedures at all times.I was able to also call the dept with any problems.Mega thanks to all the staff for a life changing experience.
